Nätverk

FFD is part of the international AgriCord Alliance, which consists of 13 development cooperation organizations from different parts of the world. We implement AgriCord’s joint programme, which aims to reduce poverty by strengthening producer organizations and livelihoods, while also participating in AgriCord’s quality system.

We receive funding from our members, private donors, and development cooperation funds from, among others, Finland, Belgium, France, and the European Union. We work closely with other civil society organizations and research institutes, such as Luke, SYKE, IIED, IUCN, and VITRI.

FFD coordinates AgriCord’s cooperation with the Forest and Farm Facility, for example by supporting climate-related work. Our partner, the International Family Forest Facility Alliance, supports producer organizations in the forestry sector. We achieve our objectives by focusing on long-term partnerships with farmers and forest owners, as well as through networking with national and international organizations.

partner organisations

MTK is a national interest organization for farmers, forest owners, and rural entrepreneurs in Finland. In Swedish-speaking regions, MTK is represented by its sister organization, SLC.

SLC represents Swedish-speaking agricultural producers and forest owners along the coastal regions and conducts national advocacy in the fields of agriculture and forestry.

Pellervo is the central organization for the cooperative movement and promotes cooperative enterprise as a competitive form of business.

ProAgria is a national expert organization in rural advisory services and works to strengthen competitiveness in agriculture and rural entrepreneurship.

TWINNING ORGANISATIONS

FFD’s twinning programme is based on a farmer-to-farmer approach, in which Finnish experts in agriculture and forestry support producer organizations in developing countries through mentoring, knowledge exchange, and long-term partnerships.
